Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development Launches ‘RAK Zoom’ Program to Promote Commercial Establishments

Monday, February 15, 2021

Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development (RAKDED) has launched a new initiative named ‘RAK Zoom’ in an effort to support businesses and promote RAK-based commercial establishments locally and internationally.

The initiative serves to boost the competitiveness of local businesses, in line with RAKDED’s strategy to enhance the reputation of local products and introduce them to regional and international markets.

The initiative included preparing promotional material for commercial establishments through the Corporate Communications Office. The team leading the initiative kickstarted its tour last January with a visit to the Arab Company for Animal Production (Digdaga Farm), which was the UAE’s first company to specialize in the animal production sector. The team’s second stop was at Masafi Co. – the first company to produce bottled mineral and flavored water in the country.

“The Ras Al Khaimah Department of Economic Development recently launched the ‘RAK Zoom’ initiative to support the Emirate’s industry sector,” noted RAKDED Director General Dr Abdulrahman Al Shayeb Al Naqbi. “The objective from the initiative is to promote locally made products, highlight Ras Al Khaimah’s leading brands, and ensure sustainable and inclusive economic growth across the Emirate.”

“The industrial sector contributes 26% of Ras Al Khaimah’s gross domestic product (GDP), which indicates that industrial investments are constantly growing, attracted by the robust industrial environment in the Emirate, which includes logistical and basic services, as well as an infrastructure suitable for all industries,” Dr Al Naqbi added.
