World-Record Holders and Champions Sign Up for Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon 2020
Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, January 22, 2020 – The organizing committee of the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon 2020 – the world’s fastest half marathon – revealed its line-up for the race’s 14th edition, featuring several world-class runners.
Held at Marjan Island on February 21, 2020, the RAK Half Marathon 2020 welcomes renowned athletes such as Kenyan women’s marathon world-record holder Brigid Kosgei, who broke the world record at the Chicago Marathon in 2019.
Also set to attend is South Africa’s Gerda Steyn, the first woman to complete the Comrades ultra-marathon in South Africa; Mosinet Geremew, one of only five men to complete a marathon in under two hours and three minutes; Julien Wanders of Switzerland; and 10 renowned male athletes who hold personal best times under 59:30 minutes.
The race is divided into categories based on skill and fitness level. Furthermore, this year’s event will include the first-ever team race, and large discounts will be available for companies wishing to participate with teams of employees.
Runners will be competing for a prize purse of AED1.219 million, distributed along various categories, including professional runners, UAE nationals and various age groups. Registration for the Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon 2020 will remain open until February 15, 2020.
